Manor Vaccination Programme

As a community school we take the health and wellbeing of the students of Manor Academy as a key priority.  The long-term health of our students is paramount to us which is why we provide all pupils with the opportunity to have immunisations which the government feels are essential to protect your son/daughter against a range of harmful disease.

The national childhood immunisation programme has meant that many dangerous diseases such as tetanus, diphtheria and polio (Td/IPV) have practically disappeared in the UK. Unfortunately this is not the same for all countries and cases of these diseases continue to be seen worldwide, including Europe. Similarly immunisations for Meningitis C (MenC) have drastically reduced the number of people contracting this serious infection. Therefore it is important that we continue to immunise our children and teenagers in order to maintain the high level of protection found in the UK.

MenC - Meningitis C

Td/IPV - Tetanus (T), Diphtheria (d) and Polio (IPV-inactivated polio vaccine)

HPV Vaccine - Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
