Year 5 Awards Evening

Last Thursday, The Manor Academy hosted an awards evening for Year 5 students from local primary schools, which celebrated their Rich Task presentations they undertook earlier on in the day.

Students from Leas Park, Northfield, St Edmunds, Peafield and Bramble Academy took part in the Rich Task which saw them split into groups and create a new tourist attraction in Mansfield.

Some of the ideas that students came up with included a zoo, leisure centre, a war museum along with many more attractions.

As part of the Rich Task, the Year 5s also created an advert in their groups which were filmed, acted and produced by the students.

The judges had a tough time choosing a winner, which eventually went to Leas Park's 'Team Awesome'. Parents and other guests who came to the awards evening were in for a treat, as Team Awesome presented their ideas on stage for a second time.

The event was hailed as a success with one parent commenting "Thank you for a lovely evening at the Y5 Rich Task celebration on Thursday. My daughter really enjoyed herself and was really proud after receiving her certificates."
