Students take part in the Your Future, Your Choice Workshop

On the 24th of June, students from The Manor Academy took part in the Your Future, Your Choice workshop, a daylong event that helps students learn employment skills and how to make the most of their upcoming work experience.

The day was split into two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

In the morning, 23 students, who have already secured work experience placements in July, took part in a session to help them maximise their work experience placement and also getting the most out of the opportunity.

The workshop was delivered by careers advisors and supported by a variety of industry representatives, from all across the business sector.

In the afternoon, a total of 35 students took part in a networking event with industry representatives to research and find out more about a wide variety of potential career opportunities.

One task students had to do was guess what type of industry each representative is from by asking them some questions. A variety of businesspeople were there, from opticians to engineers.
