Mr Hickman's Retirement Letter
Dear Parent and Students,
I write to inform you that I have decided to retire as Head Teacher of The Manor Academy at the end of this school year (31 August 2014).
It has not been an easy decision as I still get enormous pleasure and satisfaction from the job and it continues to be an honour and a privilege to be the Head Teacher of The Manor Academy.
However, after a fantastic twenty-one years at The Manor, fifteen of them as Head, it is time to give someone else a turn!
The Trustees and Governors are currently finalising the arrangements for appointing my successor and the plan is to have someone appointed by the end of this term ready to take up the post in September.
There will no doubt be more to say as the school year comes to an end but at the moment my energy and efforts remain firmly fixed on bringing about the improvements necessary to ensure present and future students get the education to which they are entitled.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and to assure you I will continue to work tirelessly for your child and the other students in my care.
