Manor Recognised by Notts Carers Association
The Manor Academy have been recognised by the Nottinghamshire Carers Association for our commitment to supporting Young Carers. Manor have been rewarded with a bronze "Young Carers in School Award" certificate.
Since the start of the year, the pastoral team and Miss Gosling have been trying to identify who may qualify as a Young Carer so that we can offer them as much support as possible, both in and out of school. So far, many of our students have answered a questionnaire, which has enabled us to start putting support in place for several of our students. Over the next few months we will be meeting with as many students as possible to see what else we can do to support them. If any student has any questions, or thinks they may be a Young Carer and would like some advice or support, they are welcome to email Miss Gosling at carers@themanor.notts.sch.uk
We are proud to have been awarded the Bronze Award as a Young Carer Friendly School. We are committed to supporting all of the young people in our local community and want to make sure that challenging circumstances at home do not prevent children from enjoying and succeeding in their education. A big thankyou and congratulations to Miss Gosling and the Pastoral team for leading on this project and earned the award.
