Manor College students’ bake-off raises hundreds for Charity

College students’ bake-off raises almost £250 for Macmillan Cancer Support

The students of Manor College donned their oven gloves and aprons last week in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Over 90% of the students at the College baked for their MacMillan Coffee Morning on 27 September, where they sold their homemade muffins, cookies, butterfly buns and brownies to The Manor Academy and Manor College staff and students, raising a whopping £247.00.

Dan Waterhouse, acting head of Manor College, said: "The Manor College students really did themselves proud and would give any competitor from the Great British Bake Off a challenge. Fun was had by all especially in raising money for a such deserving cause in the Macmillan Cancer Support charity. ”

The coffee morning was held as part of ‘The World Biggest Coffee Morning’ - an annual campaign in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support which asks people and organisations across the UK to hold a coffee morning and make their donations to Macmillan.
