January Start of Term Information
Dear Parent/Carer
I hope you are well.
The Government on 17th December updated its guidance regarding the start of term in January and has advised that secondary schools in England should not fully re-open to all students and staff following the Christmas holidays until Monday 11th January 2021.
However, the school will still be open from Monday 4th January 2021, as scheduled, for students classed as vulnerable, for children of key workers, and for students in exam year groups, which are Year 11 and Year 13.
All other students will receive their learning remotely for the first week of term (i.e. from Monday 4th January 2021) and they will be expected to engage fully with this. Thank you for your support in this.
Students of Years 7 to 10 and Year 12 will be taught their lessons remotely using Microsoft Teams as previously sent to you. The aim is that lessons will follow your child’s timetable.
If your child is unable to access Microsoft Teams please send a reply message via the school gateway.
If you are a key worker or your child is classed as vulnerable and require your child to come into school please send a message via the school gateway before 4th January or email enquiries@themanor.notts.sch.uk.
We appreciate that this change is short notice and may inconvenience you but it is essential that we closely follow all Government guidance on COVID-19 in order to safeguard our students, staff and wider school community.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing your child, either on their lessons on the remote learning platform from 4th January 2020 and then back in school from Monday 11th January; or on the 4th January 2020 if your child is classed as vulnerable, you are a key worker, or if your child is in an exam year group.
Yours faithfully
Katrina Kerry
