Family of Schools Summer Holiday Closure Information

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope this letter finds you all well, especially in these very difficult times since the emergence of COVID-19. We could never have imagined at the start of lockdown how potent the virus would be and the significant and negative impact it would have on our normal daily lives. Indeed, three months later we are still living in uncertain times.

As you will be aware, as a school we have been open from day one of lockdown for key worker and vulnerable children and more recently for children in other year groups. Staff in school have worked tirelessly to ensure we have remained open, even through the Easter break and Bank holidays, in order to play our part in helping our community and fighting the virus.

As we near the end of the academic year, we felt it was essential to let you know as early as possible that we will not be opening during the Summer break - school will be closed to all children.

We are very much hoping that come September, it will be possible to open to all year groups, as we would normally, at the start of a new academic year. This, however, is very much dependent on it being safe to open to all children and for this we will be guided by the decisions of the Government alongside the Trade Unions.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and patience during these challenging times. You have done an incredible job at home schooling and it has been inspirational to hear about and see photographs of all the wonderful things you have experienced with your child whilst being at home.

We have missed the children terribly, alongside the normality and predictability of life before COVID-19 and we sincerely hope that we are able to see all our children back in school in their new classes in September.

We continue to be committed to supporting every child and every family. Be rest assured we will keep you updated via text messages and information on our school website.

Take care and stay safe

Yours sincerely
