Esafety Information
As we come to the end of the first full term in school under Covid restrictions, I am writing to you to say thank you for your support during this difficult time. Despite the challenges of this situation the community of the Manor Academy have worked together to ensure that the education of our children has continued with as little disruption as possible.
As we move forwards, it remains likely that groups of children will continue to have to isolate and work from home. Whilst we make every effort to ensure that work is accessible and engaging, it is possible that children will require support from those at home. It has never been more important for young people to have their parents and carers engaged with their learning and the school will continue to do everything we can to support.
It is really important that children are supported to stay focused and motivated on their work as we come to the end of the term. Furthermore, we ask that parents make sure they are aware of what children are able to access on the internet whilst at home and working remotely. There have been instances where children have accessed inappropriate material whilst working at home, with a case where some of this was included along with completed classwork.
We strongly advise that all parents have a parental filter in use with their internet at home and that they check regularly on the content that children are viewing on their electronic devices. More advice on this can be found here: http://www.themanor.notts.sch.uk/academy-life/safeguarding/e-safety/
Staff at the Manor Academy will continue to support children throughout their time at home; class teachers are contactable by email and we will be making wellbeing phone calls to those isolating at home whilst we have significant numbers of children isolating.
In the meantime, if you would like to discuss anything or require support, please contact the school via your child’s tutor, PSO or Head of Year.
Kind Regards,
Mr Hudson
