Drop Down Day, Thursday 28th November
On Thursday 28th of November students took part in a 'Drop Down day', taking them out of their usual timetable and giving each year group the opportunity of participating in fun and exciting enrichment!
All students thoroughly enjoyed the day. Year 7 students enjoyed their '999 Challenge Day' linking into PSHE and learning about 'Staying safe' and careers information. Year 8 students visited Cadburys World and learnt about the history at Cadburys and the process of how chocolate is made with their machinery. Year 9 students worked with Humanutopia and their inspirational workshops throughout the day, to relax the students but yet at the same time, give a positive spin on Hope, Confidence, Happiness, Relationships and Employability. Year 10 students had the opportunity to visit the Royal Armouries in Leeds, to learn about the history and have a look at the armour, whilst Year 11 students were working hard in their revisions sessions to prepare for their mock and final exams this academic year!
Year 12 students also visited Sheffield Hallam university to get a taste of university life!
Overall, the day was really successful and all students learned valuable lessons from the sessions that took place. We will be holding more Drop Down days, throughout the year with the next day taking place in February 2018, when more students will get the chance to go out on trips and take part in exciting activities and workshops.
