Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance
An overview of the “Your Future, Your Choice” Careers Programme
Manor Academy’s careers guidance provision, the Your Future, Your Choice programme, offers a comprehensive programme of CEIAG which aims to develop students’ Self Awareness, Employability and to support students to access Work Related Learning opportunities between Years 7 – 13.
Objectives:
- To inspire students to reflect on their own interests and values
- To support students to explore a wide range of careers and the different entry routes to pursuing their career interests.
- To develop students’ employability skills by providing them with the opportunity to access meaningful work experience and placements.
The Manor Academy takes a combined approach to delivering the Your Future, Your choice programme. Students receive Careers Education which is delivered in curriculum alongside a wide range of Careers Information, Advice and Guidance from further and higher educational providers and employers through assemblies, workshops, careers fairs and events. Students also have access to Unifrog which provides up to date careers advice and information. The latter is complemented by one to one Careers Guidance interviews conducted by The Two Counties Trust Academy’s Careers Advisor. This combined approach is aimed to support students to make well, informed realistic decisions at each key stage of transition whether that be regarding option choices, post 16 or post 18 choices.
