Executive Headteacher's Welcome
Dear Parent / Carer
I have joined Manor Academy this academic year as Executive Head Teacher and as such my role is to support Ms Kerry and the School Leadership Team to secure further improvements at the school. I am also Chief Executive Officer of The Two Counties Trust which is the multi-academy trust that Manor Academy joined in September 2016. Previously I have been Head Teacher at Ashfield School for 9 years and Head Teacher of a secondary school in Derbyshire for 7 years. Ms Kerry is the Head of School and is responsible for the day-to-day running and leadership of the school.
I am passionate about comprehensive education and committed to improving our students’ learning and life chances. I have high expectations: I challenge everyone within our learning community to be ‘the best we can be every day’ and to achieve more than we all first think is possible. As a parent, I understand the importance of a good school. You will expect teachers to take the time to know your child and nurture their talents. You will expect your child to be supported, inspired and challenged to do their best in a safe, happy and ambitious learning environment. In a competitive and ever-changing world, our aim is to nurture resilient, hard-working and respectful citizens who will confidently take their place in the world and make their mark.
It is an exciting time to be working with Manor Academy as both students and staff at the school have worked hard to achieve a rapid rise in outcomes over the past two years. There is a lot to be proud of at Manor Academy and my aim is to work with staff and students at the school in order to ensure that the quality of provision and outcomes for our students improve even further in the future. At Manor Academy, we are very proud of our reputation for the high standards of teaching, behaviour and academic achievement. We have high expectations and encourage all students to meet them. I fully subscribe to and support the vision of the Manor Academy which is to ensure that all of our students develop their full range of talents and fulfil their academic potential.
The school has an agreed set of values which all staff and students sign up to and for this academic year governors and leaders have agreed the following 3 key priorities for the school:
- Key Issue 1: Improve outcomes and progress for all students in all subjects
- Key Issue 2: Improve the quality of teaching, learning & assessment
- Key Issue 3: Improve the rate of attendance and student wellbeing
Thank you for visiting the website, and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. I look forward to working in partnership with you over the coming academic year.
